19 of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been won on hard surfaces
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev won his first championship for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the competition final.
The Russian, a ex- number one, has had a challenging period, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's varied form on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serve in especial - led to him dropping out of the top ten and finally splitting with long-time trainer Cervara.
Now training with his coach and his other coach, Medvedev has steadily improved in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought three-set victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.
It is his maiden trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard court since spring of 2023.
The win also means he has achieved twenty-one victories at 21 different competitions.
"For the first time I am participating in a tournament with my children simultaneously, so to win a championship is really nice," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in dedication of my second daughter her name, because the first title I won when my child my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his past six finals, featuring in the German tournament earlier this year.
His defensive play style and frequent outbursts on the tennis court had prompted commentators to wonder if his capacity to perform at the highest level was over.
But the 29-year-old has made changes in recent weeks, making an effort to advance forward and compete assertively, supported by an better serve.
The champion came back from a break down in the initial set against the difficult opponent, taking four of the last five exchanges to gain the advantage.
The competitors swapped service breaks in the following set before the challenger, bidding for his first ATP Tour victory, seized the initiative to push for a final set.
The opponent saved 4 early-game opportunities in a tight third set before Medvedev broke to that score to close out the victory.
Appropriately, he clinched victory with a shot at the net area, with Moutet failing to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
